The English Learners Success Forum (“ELSF”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) values and respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our information collection and privacy practices, which apply to your access to or use of our website, elsuccessforum.org (the “Website”), as well as any information you may provide to us through another means, including but not limited to e-mail, paper mail, and in person.

By using our Website or providing Personal Information (as defined below) through online or offline interactions with us, you consent to the use and collection of Personal Information in the manner described in this Policy. English Learners Success Forum Mission and Legitimate Interests

ELSF is a nonprofit organization with the mission of expanding educational equity for multilingual learners by increasing the supply of high-quality instructional materials that center their cultural and linguistic assets. Any information we collect is used in furtherance of our mission, including but not limited to the following:

• Sending you information about our allies and partners;
• Personalizing your interactions with ELSF, such as customizing web and email content, sending you requests to participate in events in your area, and otherwise targeting content and communications to you;

• Responding to inquiries and fulfilling your requests, such as processing donations;
• Sending administrative information to you; and
• Using your Personal Information for our internal purposes, such as data analysis, audits, fraud monitoring and prevention, developing new services, enhancing, improving or modifying the Website, identifying usage trends, and operating, evaluating, and expanding our activities.

What Information We Collect

When you visit the Website, ELSF may collect Personal Information that you voluntarily provide, including, but not limited to, your name and contact information (email address, phone number, and mailing address). “Personal Information” is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to an identifiable person.

In addition, we use third-party services that may gather information about your use of the Website, including, among other things, your IP address, browser type, mobile device type, content visited while on the Website and the duration of your visit to the Website. Some of this information may be considered Personal Information in certain jurisdictions.

If you voluntarily submit any Personal Information relating to other people to us in connection with the Website, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Credit Card Information

ELSF does not disclose credit card information provided by donors or individuals who register for our events. When you choose to pay using your credit cards, your payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party service with its own privacy and security practices, subject to Stripe’s privacy policy. ELSF does not collect, retain, or disclose any credit card information available through Stripe. How We Collect Information

‍Personal Information that You Voluntarily Provide to Us ‍

You can access most areas of the Website without submitting any Personal Information to us. However, if you wish to access additional content or participate in some of our activities, we may ask that you provide Personal Information, including when you subscribe to our email updates, register for an event through the Website, or fill out forms on the Website.

As you interact with the Website, we may collect other information that may be Personal Information (“Other Information”) in a variety of ways. 

We use “cookies” to help us monitor traffic and collect information about use of the Website. An IP address may be identified and logged automatically in our server log files whenever you access the Website, along with the time of the visit and the page(s) that were visited. Collecting IP addresses is a common practice and is done automatically by many websites, applications, and other services, including Google Analytics. We may use IP addresses for purposes such as calculating usage levels, providing insights into visitor location and behavior, and helping diagnose server problems and administering the Website. 

We may collect information about the physical location of your device. We may use your device’s physical location to provide you with personalized location-based services and content. 

We may aggregate your Personal Information with the Personal Information of other persons. Aggregated information does not personally identify you or any other user of the Website (for example, we may aggregate Personal Information to calculate the percentage of our users who have a particular telephone area code).

Set your web browser to inform you of when cookies are being set before a cookie is stored and refuse any request to set cookies, and do not accept cookies from ELSF. Erase ELSF cookies from your hard drive. 

Do not provide your information through the Website when prompted. 

Please note, however, that if you choose to reject or erase cookies, your ability to navigate the Website may be limited. Further, in the event you choose not to share information, ELSF will be unable to respond to your request for ELSF information, enter you in any promotions, or facilitate your actions via ELSF alerts or potential e-cards. 

Donor Information

ELSF may participate in exchanges with like-minded organizations. If you would like to be excluded from any trade/exchange list, please contact us at opportunities@elsuccessforum.org. 

Privacy Policy

ELSF does not publicize the names of donors unless they have granted permission. Anonymous donors always remain private. If you have questions about donor recognition, please contact us at opportunities@elsuccessforum.org.

‍How We Disclose and Share Information‍

It is our policy not to share, disclose, or sell information to any third party for their promotional use or for marketing purposes not relevant to ELSF’s mission. We may disclose and share information we collect with: 

• Our third-party service providers who provide services such as website hosting, data analysis, payment processing, information technology and related infrastructure provision, customer service, email delivery, auditing, and other similar services; and 
• Allied nonprofit organizations whose mission purposes and activities align with ours and that may be of interest to you. 

We may also use and disclose your Personal Information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property and/or that of our affiliates, you or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain. 

We may use and disclose Other Information for any purpose, except where we are required to treat Other Information as Personal Information under applicable law. If we are required to treat Other Information as Personal Information, then we may use it for all the purposes for which we use and disclose Personal Information. In some instances, we may combine Other Information with Personal Information. If we do, we will treat the combined information as Personal Information as long as it is combined. 

How To Stop Receiving Communications from ELSF

If you would like to opt-out of receiving content from ELSF, you can: 

• Use the “unsubscribe” links at the bottom of an email update that ELSF sends to you.

Children’s Information

ELSF does not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone under the age of 13. The Website is not directed at or intended for children under the age of 13. In the event that ELSF learns that it has collected Personal Information from a child under age 13 without parental consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete the personal data. If you believe that we might have collected any Personal Information from a child under 13, please contact us.

The Website has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under ELSF’s control. 

When you submit information to ELSF through the Website, you should be aware that your information is transmitted across the Internet and that no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. Our principal place of business is in the United States.
