Julianne Foxworthy Gonzalez

PhD Candidate, University of California, Santa Cruz

Julianne is a PhD candidate studying mathematics education at the University of California Santa Cruz. Her research focuses on 1) critical statistical literacy for all students, particularly those who have been minoritized and neglected in STEM classrooms; 2) supporting teachers of emergent bilingual students in orchestrating productive mathematical discussions; and 3) equity in mathematics education. She obtained her Masters and teaching credential from San Jose State University and taught culturally, ethnically, and linguistically diverse 5th and 6th grade students.
