Lynda Wynn

Assistant Professor of Mathematics, CSU Stanislaus

Lynda Wynn is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at CSU Stanislaus. Her research focuses on how curriculum materials, teachers, and teachers’ use of curriculum materials support emergent bilingual students’ participation in mathematical practices. Her teaching assignments include a variety of courses for preservice elementary and secondary mathematics teachers. She earned a PhD in Mathematics and Science Education from UC San Diego and San Diego State University in 2019, where she had the opportunity to work closely with her advisor, Dr. Bill Zahner, on his research project focused on designing learning environments that support linguistically diverse students’ participation in mathematical discussions. Before choosing to attend graduate school to earn a masters degree in mathematics and her PhD, she taught high school mathematics for sixteen years and was an adjunct in the math department at Point Loma Nazarene University.
